Philip supports clients on strategically important transactions across a range of sectors but has a particular focus on transactions in the financial services sector, having supported clients on a wide range of investment and M&A transactions involving both regulated and non-regulated financial services firms throughout his career.  

Philip has significant practical experience from secondments at AnaCap, a financial services focused private equity fund, and CDC Group plc, the UK’s development finance institution.

Philip is independently recognised as a “Leading Partner” in The Legal 500, with clients describing him as “an outstanding, commercially astute young partner” and "a rising star: bright, thorough, responsive and calm”.

• Advising Allica Bank on its strategic acquisition of Kriya, an award-winning SME lending fintech.‍
• Advising the UK shareholders of global boutique fitness brand, Barry’s, on the investment by US private equity firm Princeton Equity Group.
• Advising Lloyds Banking Group on its investments in fintechs Coadjute and Aveni.‍
• Advising financial services group Fidelius Group on the investment by private equity-backed Söderberg & Partners.
• Advising Newcastle Building Society on its merger with Manchester Building Society.
